About U-Power
U-Power's roots go back to 1950 in northern Italy, where the business began as Almar. The turning point came in 2017 with the launch of the Red Lion collection — safety footwear that looked and felt like a technical trainer rather than a safety boot — and by 2019 U-Power was the market leader in safety footwear across Europe. It is a genuinely fast rise in a conservative category.
The flagship Red Lion range, alongside Red Up, Red Industry and Red Leve, is built on lightweight construction: aluminium and composite toecaps, non-metallic penetration-resistant midsoles and BASF Infinergy cushioning inserts — the same expanded TPU used in running shoes. All are certified to EN ISO 20345, with the slip resistance, water resistance and antistatic properties the standard requires.
U-Power is what we recommend when comfort is the actual problem — when a client's team is on hard floors for ten hours and existing boots are causing complaints or being swapped for trainers. Common in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing and engineering across Scotland. The 2022 EN ISO 20345 update changed the class codes, so our guide is worth a read before re-specifying.
There is currently 1 product from U-Power in the catalogue, covering ppe, safety boots and safety footwear, from £112.42 ex VAT. Everything is available on business terms, with trade pricing that improves with volume. Orders over £150 ex VAT are delivered free, and most stocked lines dispatch for next-day delivery.
