About Mechanix Wear
Mechanix Wear was founded in 1991 by Michael Hale in Valencia, California, to solve a specific problem: NASCAR pit crews needed their hands protected without losing the feel required to seat a lug nut. The answer was a thin synthetic-leather palm in a form-fitting glove, which debuted at the 1991 Daytona 500. That silhouette is now standard issue across industry and the trades.
