Help & FAQs
How ordering, delivery, returns, logos and trade accounts work, in short answers. Can't find what you need? Call 0131 210 0416, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Ordering
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can order online and pay by card without an account. Businesses that order regularly usually open a trade account for credit terms and account pricing.
Is there a minimum order?
No. We supply single items as well as bulk contracts, and you can add a logo to a single garment.
Are your prices with or without VAT?
Prices are shown in pounds excluding VAT unless stated. VAT is added at checkout and shown separately on your invoice.
Can I get a quote for a large order?
Yes. Send us the products, sizes and quantities and we will come back with a written quote. Bigger quantities and regular orders are often priced better than the website.
Request a quote →Can I still order an item that shows as out of stock?
Yes. Out-of-stock sizes can still be ordered, and the product page shows an estimated delivery date based on our suppliers’ lead times.
Are some products sold in packs?
Yes. Gloves, disposables and some consumables are sold by the pack or case. The product page shows each pack size on sale and its price, so you can see the cost per unit before ordering.
How do I find the right size?
Most product pages show the sizes available and which are in stock. For branded garments, order a single sample first if you are unsure, because personalised items cannot be returned unless faulty.
Trade accounts and the customer portal
How do I open a trade account?
Apply online or download our trade account application form. Every application is checked by a person, and we reply the same working day.
Apply for a trade account →What does a trade account give me?
Trade pricing, 30-day credit terms (subject to approval), a named account manager and consolidated invoicing.
What can I do in the customer portal?
See your orders, quotes and invoices, accept a quote online, approve artwork proofs, keep a list of favourite products and reorder from your account prices.
Sign in to the portal →Can a manager approve orders before they are placed?
Yes. A company admin on the portal can require sign-off, so colleagues’ requests come to them to approve or decline before the order is placed with us.
I registered online. Why don’t I see my trade prices?
A new online sign-up starts as a standard account. If your business already has a trade account with us, let us know and we will link your login to it.
I have forgotten my portal password.
Use the “Forgot password” link on the sign-in page and we will email you a reset link.
Reset your password →Can you visit our site?
Yes. Your account manager can visit to review what your teams need, take sizes and recommend products.
Delivery
How much is delivery?
Free on orders over £100 ex VAT to mainland UK addresses. Below that, a flat £7.95 carriage charge applies.
Delivery and returns in full →How quickly will my order arrive?
Stocked lines ordered before mid-afternoon on a working day are usually dispatched the same or next working day, and delivered within one to two working days after that. Each product page shows its own estimated delivery date.
Do you deliver outside mainland UK?
Yes, to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland and offshore addresses. Carriage is quoted separately because surcharges apply.
I have a fixed deadline. Can you meet it?
Tell us the date when you order and we will confirm what is achievable before you commit. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees.
Returns
How long do I have to return something?
Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Contact us first so we can give you a returns reference. Some returns may carry a restocking fee.
Full returns policy →Who pays for return postage?
You do for change-of-mind returns. If an item is faulty, damaged in transit or not what we agreed to supply, we cover the return and replace or refund it.
Can I return branded or personalised workwear?
No, unless it is faulty. Garments with your logo are made to your specification, which is why we send a proof for approval before anything is produced.
Logos, embroidery and print
Is there a setup fee or a minimum quantity for logos?
No setup fee as long as your artwork is good enough to stitch or print from, and no minimum. The price per logo drops at 10 garments and again at 20.
Logo prices and how it works →How long does branded workwear take?
From proof sign-off, typically up to 10 working days for embroidery and 5 working days for print.
What logo file do you need?
Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) give the cleanest result, but PNG and JPG are fine. If you only have a small or blurry image, send it anyway and we will tell you whether it will work, and the cost before any redrawing.
Will I see a proof first?
Yes. We confirm the method and position and send a digital proof. Nothing is made until you approve it, and trade customers can approve proofs in the portal.
Should I choose embroidery or print?
Embroidery suits polos, fleeces, softshells and jackets and survives industrial washing. Print is better for T-shirts, hi-vis, large back logos and waterproof fabrics, where stitching would pierce the membrane.
Embroidery vs print guide →Will a logo affect hi-vis certification?
Not if it is placed correctly. A logo must not cover the reflective tape or reduce the fluorescent background below the minimum for the garment’s EN ISO 20471 class, and we position it to keep the class.
Can I reorder for new starters?
Yes. We keep your logo on file, so you only need to tell us the garment, size and quantity. Regular trade customers can also have an agreed price per logo position at any quantity.
Payment, invoices and VAT
How can I pay?
Online by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Apple Pay, processed securely by Stripe. Approved trade account customers can pay on 30-day credit terms instead.
Will I get a VAT invoice?
Yes. Every order is invoiced with VAT shown separately. Trade account customers can view their invoices in the customer portal.
Can I buy safety boots or helmets without VAT?
Only if you are an individual buying them for your own use at work. UK VAT law zero-rates protective boots and industrial helmets in that case, and checkout asks who you are buying for. It does not apply when an employer or business buys, pays for or reimburses them.
Choosing the right PPE
Which hi-vis class do my team need?
It depends on traffic speed and the other risks on site. Most general site and roadside work calls for Class 2, while motorways, high-speed roads and rail need Class 3. Always follow your own risk assessment.
Hi-vis classes explained →What do the safety boot ratings mean?
Codes such as S1P, S3 and S3S under EN ISO 20345 tell you about toe protection, midsole penetration resistance, water resistance and slip resistance.
Safety boot standards guide →How do I choose cut-resistant gloves?
Check the EN 388 markings on the glove: the cut level, shown as a letter from A to F, should match the risk of the task.
Glove cut levels explained →Which dust mask or respirator do I need?
FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 masks filter progressively more, and tight-fitting respirators need a face fit test for each wearer.
FFP mask guide →Can someone help me put a kit list together?
Yes. Call or email us with the roles and the work, or use the kit builder to put a set together for each person.
Open the kit builder →Still have a question?
