About Bekina
Bekina was founded in 1962 by Denis Vanderbeke, a shoemaker in the Belgian village of Kluisbergen who made rubber boots for local farmers. On 24 October 1987 fire destroyed the entire factory overnight, and it was fully operational again eight months later. Three generations on, it is a leading maker of polyurethane safety boots.
Bekina's own polyurethane, Neotane, is around 40% lighter than rubber or PVC and insulates well. We stock S5 safety wellingtons: the Steplite X SolidGrip and a metal-free version, the Steplite X Thermoprotec for cold conditions, and the Thermolite.
