About Howard Leight
Howard Leight is the hearing protection arm of Honeywell Safety Products and has spent more than thirty years doing one thing: making earplugs people will actually keep in. Its polyurethane foam plugs are the most widely used PU foam earplugs in the world, and the reason is fit — the taper and the recovery rate of the foam are what determine whether a plug seals properly or works its way loose over a shift.
The core lines are Laser Lite, the magenta-and-yellow plug whose high visibility makes it easy for a supervisor to see at a glance who is wearing protection; Max and Maximum Lite, the latter sized for smaller ear canals; corded and uncorded variants; detectable versions for food and pharmaceutical environments; banded plugs for intermittent noise; and the Leightning and Thunder earmuff ranges, including helmet-mounted options.
Noise-induced hearing loss is irreversible and one of the most commonly claimed occupational injuries in the UK, so the SNR figure on the packet matters — but so does whether the plug is comfortable enough to stay in.
