JCB safety footwear and workwear is made under an exclusive UK and Ireland licence held by Progressive Safety Footwear & Clothing Ltd — a Sheffield manufacturer founded by John Topham in 1961 and operating from a 34,000 sq ft distribution headquarters in Darnall. The licence was awarded in 2008, and it means JCB-branded boots are designed and supplied by a specialist footwear business rather than being a badge applied to a generic import.
The range leans on the things JCB is known for on site: hard-wearing dealer boots, chukkas, hikers and riggers, safety trainers, and boots rated to EN ISO 20345 with S3 protection, HRO heat-resistant outsoles and SRC slip resistance. Workwear covers hi-vis, trousers, sweatshirts and jackets in the same instantly recognisable yellow and black.
