Choosing work trousers
Work trousers take more punishment than any other garment, so choose for the job rather than the price. This range includes combat and cargo styles, 4-way stretch trousers and joggers, fleece-lined softshell trousers for winter, and waterproof over-trousers, from Beeswift, JCB, Orbit International, ProRTX, Tee Jays and Warrior.
Polycotton combat trousers suit most site and workshop work. Stretch fabrics are worth the extra for trades that kneel, climb or work in tight spaces. For outdoor work in winter, a lined softshell trouser keeps people warm without the bulk of over-trousers; in heavy rain, add a waterproof over-trouser on top.
If your team works near vehicles or plant, choose hi-vis trousers instead — worn with a hi-vis jacket or waistcoat they can make up a Class 3 outfit, when the manufacturer has certified that combination.
What to look for

- Short, regular and tall leg lengths where offered
