Salopettes keep water out where over trousers can't: at the waist and lower back when someone kneels, bends or works on wet ballast all day. The Danube is an orange 3-layer GORE-TEX® salopette certified to EN ISO 20471 Class 2, EN 343 4:4:R and RIS-3279-TOM Issue 2, which makes it a natural choice for rail and trackside gangs.
The 4:4:R rating is the top class for keeping rain out and the top class for letting sweat vapour out, tested as a finished garment in a rain tower. Because it is 3-layer, there is no loose lining to snag or hold water. The seams are fully taped.
It has a two-way front zip with two sliders, elastic shoulder braces with quick-release buckles for toilet breaks and quick changes, an elasticated back waist and zipped, gusseted ankles that open over boots.
Wear it with an orange GORE-TEX® jacket such as the Amazon or Colorado for a complete rail-orange suit.
What it isn't: it is not flame retardant. For arc-flash risk, choose the Altitude salopettes. The yellow version of this garment is the Mekong.
