Frequently asked
Why only Class 1?
Class 1 is the class for hi-vis trousers on their own. Wear them with a Class 3 jacket where your site requires Class 3.
Can I get them on over boots?
The hems open with zips and gussets to make that easier.
Are they rail approved?
The orange version is certified to RIS-3279-TOM Issue 2.

From the manufacturer's specification. Check the garment label for the edition in use.
The Rhine is the over trouser that completes a GORE-TEX® suit. It is made from 3-layer GORE-TEX® fabric, so there is no loose lining to snag or hold water. It goes on over normal work trousers, and the zips and gussets at the hems make it easier to get on and off over boots.
It is rated EN 343 4:4:R, the top class for keeping rain out and for letting sweat out, tested as a finished garment in a rain tower. That matters on the legs, which take the most spray and standing water. The seams are fully taped. The waist is elasticated, and a side access opening with a flapped pocket lets you reach the trousers underneath.
It meets EN ISO 20471 Class 1, the class for hi-vis trousers worn alone. On sites that require Class 3, wear it with a Class 3 jacket such as the Amazon or Colorado. The orange Rhine is certified to RIS-3279-TOM Issue 2 for rail work.
What it isn't: it is not flame retardant. For more cover at the waist and back, choose the Danube or Mekong salopettes instead.
