Is the Amazon jacket rail compliant?
The orange version is certified to RIS-3279-TOM Issue 2. The yellow version is not rail-compliant.
What does EN 343 4:4:R mean?
Class 4 for water penetration and class 4 for breathability, the top class on both, and "R" means the finished jacket passed a rain tower test.
Does it have a hood?
No. It is supplied without a hood.
Is it flame retardant?
No. For flame and arc-flash risk, choose the Arc Rated GORE-TEX® PYRAD® Velocity jacket.

The Amazon is the jacket for people who spend the whole shift outside in the rain: road crews, civils gangs, lineside staff and yard teams. It is a fully seam-sealed, lined 2-layer GORE-TEX® Jacket, rated at the top of EN 343 for both waterproofing and breathability (4:4:R), so it keeps rain out without trapping the sweat of hard physical work.
It replaces the PU-coated site coat, whose coating wears with use and which traps sweat on anyone working hard. The Amazon keeps rain out with a membrane rather than a surface coating.
The storm details are serious: a heavy-duty two-way front zip under a double storm flap, internal storm cuffs and deep flaps on the lower pockets. There are six pockets, including one for a phone on the left sleeve and a map pocket under the flap.
In yellow it meets EN ISO 20471 Class 3. The orange version is also certified to RIS-3279-TOM Issue 2 for Network Rail work.
What it isn't: it has no flame-retardant or arc rating, so don't use it for hot work or near arc-flash risk (see the Velocity jacket), and it comes without a hood.
